Crystal River (Guide)

Crystal River on Kings Bay offers excellent inshore fishing for redfish, snook, tarpon, trout, sheepshead, and black drum on the grass flats and spring vents with outgoing tides concentrating fish near structure for stronger bites. Kings Bay and the Crystal River Preserve provide some of the best shallow water sight fishing on the Gulf coast. Check current FWC regulations before heading out.

Public boat ramps at Crystal River Preserve State Park and the city ramp along with nearby marinas such as Kings Bay Marina provide convenient launches, slips, and fuel for river and bay trips. Strong tidal flows around the springs and inlets require careful planning for safe navigation. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.

Kings Bay beaches and the Crystal River waterfront deliver calm sand for family picnics, swimming, and low tide exploration with views of the historic area and manatee viewing opportunities in the warmer months.
