Pawleys Island (Guide)

Pawleys Island on South Carolinas Grand Strand offers excellent surf and pier fishing for redfish pompano sheepshead and whiting with outgoing tides improving action near the inlet and surf zone. The iconic Pawleys Island Pier provides elevated access for fishing and crabbing. Check current SCDNR regulations before heading out.

Local boat ramps near the inlet support kayaks and small craft with access to the inlet and nearshore waters but tidal currents require careful planning for safe navigation. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.

Pawleys Island Beach and nearby Litchfield Beach deliver pristine sand for family picnics swimming beachcombing and low tide exploration with calm waters and scenic views making it a favorite quiet destination on the Grand Strand.

Pawleys Island Pier

Public fishing pier extending into the Atlantic at Pawleys Island offering elevated access for surf fishing crabbing sightseeing benches and panoramic views of the ocean shoreline and nearby marshes. Tidal fluctuations create dynamic conditions enhancing angling opportunities for species like whiting pompano kingfish and Spanish mackerel while the pier provides safe access at all tides with scenic sunrise sunset and wildlife watching. Convenient parking and location near residential areas support combining pier fishing with tide monitoring and enjoying this classic unspoiled Grand Strand coastal landmark.
