Cumberland Island Wharf on Cumberland Island delivers reliable fishing for redfish flounder and pompano from the wharf or small boats with lower tides revealing flats for excellent sight fishing. Boat ramps near the wharf and St Marys area support kayaks and small craft for sound exploration. Beaches at Cumberland Island National Seashore and the wharf area provide pristine sand for family picnics swimming shelling and shore casting with wild beach views. Northern extension of Dungeness Dock open for private boat docking under 25 feet first come first served from sunrise to sunset providing easy access to the historic Dungeness Ruins Ice House Museum and southern trails of Cumberland Island National Seashore. Positioned near the Cumberland River and Sound the dock experiences notable tidal fluctuations that reveal more shoreline at low tide and support activities like beachcombing shore fishing and exploring the islands maritime forest and marshes. Ideal for day visitors combining boating with walking to key attractions paying entry fees on arrival and enjoying the islands undeveloped beaches and wildlife in a serene setting.

Plum Orchard Dock Cumberland Island (Other)

Full Plum Orchard Dock available for private boats under 25 feet on a first come first served basis during daylight hours offering docking near the northern part of Cumberland Island for access to Plum Orchard Mansion trails and surrounding wilderness areas. Tidal influences in the Cumberland River and nearby waters create dynamic conditions with changing depths and exposed features at low tide making it great for timing visits to observe birds manatees or enjoy quiet paddling and shore activities after docking. Note occasional closures during managed hunts or events but generally supports exploration of the islands historic sites and natural beauty with park fees required.

Sea Camp Dock Cumberland Island (Other)

Public docking area on the northern extension of Sea Camp Dock available for private boats under 25 feet on a first come first served basis during daylight hours only with direct access to Cumberland Island National Seashore for day trips hiking beach exploration and wildlife viewing.
