St. Marks, Florida (Guide)

St Marks on Apalachee Bay offers excellent fishing for redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead and black drum from shore piers or small boats with incoming and outgoing tides concentrating fish near structure and the river mouth for stronger bites. Check current FWC regulations before heading out.

The St Marks National Wildlife Refuge boat ramp and nearby public launches provide convenient access to the river bay and gulf for kayaks small craft and charters targeting additional species but strong tidal currents in the pass require careful planning for safe navigation. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.

Beaches at St Marks and the adjacent Apalachee Bay shoreline deliver wide sand for family picnics swimming shelling and low tide exploration with views of the historic lighthouse making it a popular destination for fishing boating and shore activities in the Big Bend region of Florida.
