Fort Myers Beach (Guide)

Fort Myers Beach on Floridas Gulf coast offers excellent inshore fishing for snook, redfish, tarpon, trout, and sheepshead in the Caloosahatchee River, Matanzas Pass, and nearby Gulf waters. Pier fishing at the main beach and shore access at Bowditch Point Park are popular with lower tides exposing more flats and structure for productive angling. Check current Florida Fish and Wildlife regulations before heading out.

Boating launches at Salty Sams Marina, Bowditch Point Park public ramps, Moss Marina, and Snook Bight Marina provide easy access to the river estuaries and barrier islands but strong tidal flows in the passes require careful tide planning for safe navigation. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.

Popular beaches including Fort Myers Beach, Bowditch Point Park, and Lovers Key State Park offer excellent walking, shelling, and wildlife viewing with low tides revealing more shoreline, productive flats, and great shelling opportunities along the barrier island coast.
