Old Saybrook (Guide)

Old Saybrook at the Connecticut River mouth delivers excellent fishing for striped bass, summer flounder, and bluefish from the waterfront or small boats with outgoing tides creating strong currents near the river entrance. Public boat ramps at Old Saybrook Harbor and the marina provide launches slips and fuel for river and sound trips targeting black sea bass and tautog. Beaches at Old Saybrook Beach and the adjacent Fenwick Beach offer wide sand for family picnics swimming and shore casting with historic town views. The scenic river mouth town setting makes tide planning key for memorable outings.
