About 3.5 miles south of downtown Ketchikan, Rotary Beach (also called Bugge Beach) is a beloved family spot with a unique warmed saltwater pond, playground, picnic shelters, fire pits, and excellent tidepooling along its sandy/rocky shore. At low tide, kids delight in finding sea stars, anemones, urchins, hermit crabs, snails, small octopuses, eels, and clams, often with bald eagles overhead.
