Kenai (Guide)

Kenai near the river mouth delivers exceptional fishing for king salmon and halibut from shore or boats with strong tidal currents concentrating fish near ledges and drop offs in Cook Inlet. Outgoing tides improve action at the river mouth and nearby flats. Check current ADFG regulations before heading out.

Public boat launches at Kenai City Dock and the Kenai Municipal Airport ramp provide convenient access to the river and upper Cook Inlet for salmon runs dipnetting and small boat trips but massive tidal ranges expose mudflats and create fast currents. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.
