Anacortes, Washington (Guide)

Anacortes on Fidalgo Island serves as a prime hub for exploring the San Juan Islands and Skagit Bay with excellent fishing for salmon, rockfish, lingcod and Dungeness crab from charters or shore spots with moving tides improving action near structure. Check current WDFW regulations before heading out.

The Port of Anacortes Cap Sante Marina and public boat ramps at Washington Park and city facilities provide convenient launches slips fuel and access for boating trips to the islands but strong tidal currents in the bay and Deception Pass require careful planning for safe navigation. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.

Beaches in Washington Park such as Sunset Beach and West Beach showcase vibrant low tide tide pools while extensive trails offer hiking with ocean views and forest walks making Anacortes a top destination for boating fishing and nature discovery in the San Juan Islands.
