Sekiu (Guide)

Sekiu on the Olympic Peninsula along the Strait of Juan de Fuca is a prime fishing destination known for excellent salmon runs as well as halibut lingcod and rockfish from boats launched at local marinas or from shore. Boating trips take advantage of the protected waters but require attention to tidal currents for safe navigation. Beaches and nearby areas provide opportunities for surf fishing and beachcombing while low tides expose interesting intertidal zones. The small town atmosphere with access to trails adds to its appeal for anglers and nature enthusiasts.

Marine Area 5 Sekiu and Pillar Point Boating (Other)

WDFW guide for Marine Area 5 in the western Strait of Juan de Fuca from Sekiu River to Low Point. Most boaters launch from Sekiu public ramps for salmon, halibut, and bottomfish. Strong currents and occasional swells require caution, especially for small boats. Good protection in Clallam Bay; check WDFW for seasons, regulations, tide-influenced access, and boating safety info.

Sekiu Water Access Area Boat Launch (Other)

Public four-lane boat ramp and parking lot in Sekiu on Clallam Bay managed by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. Year-round access with trailer parking, no launch fee, and usable at all tide levels due to non-tide-dependent design. Key launch for motorized boats in the Strait of Juan de Fuca between Neah Bay and Port Angeles. Popular for salmon fishing, bottomfish, halibut, sea kayaking, and wildlife viewing. Discover Pass required for parking; check WDFW for current conditions and any repairs.
