Port Gamble, Washington (Guide)

Port Gamble on Hood Canal offers excellent fishing for salmon (chum, coho, pink), rockfish, lingcod, flounder, greenling perch and sea run cutthroat from shore or small boats with outgoing tides concentrating fish near structure and freshwater inflows for stronger bites. Check current WDFW regulations before heading out.

Public boat ramps at Port Gamble and nearby Hood Canal provide convenient launches slips and access to the canal for charters and private boats but strong tidal currents require careful planning for safe navigation. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.

Port Gamble's historic waterfront and nearby beaches deliver calm sand for family picnics swimming shore casting and low tide exploration with scenic views across the canal making it a popular destination for fishing families and shore activities on Hood Canal.
