Cape Arago (Tide Pool)

Situated on the southern coast about four hours from Portland, Cape Aragos rugged, secluded tide pools are a highlight of its three state park areas including Sunset Bay, Shore Acres and Cape Arago itself. These pools harbor dense clusters of green anemones, tightly packed mussels and darting small fish.

Charleston (Guide)

Charleston on Coos Bay offers excellent crabbing and fishing for Dungeness crab salmon rockfish and lingcod from docks or small boats with outgoing tides concentrating catch near structure and channels. Check current ODFW regulations before heading out.

The Charleston Marina Complex and public boat ramps at the Port of Coos Bay provide convenient launches slips fuel and full service facilities for bay and ocean trips but strong tidal currents require careful planning for safe navigation. Always confirm current marine conditions in the NOAA NWS Forecast section displayed above.

Sunset Bay State Park and nearby beaches deliver excellent walking picnics swimming and low tide exploration with scenic coastal views making Charleston a popular destination for fishing boating and recreation on the southern Oregon coast.
