Cape Hatteras (Guide)

Cape Hatteras on the Outer Banks delivers world class fishing for redfish, pompano, spanish mackerel, and bluefish from the beaches or piers with outgoing tides improving action near the surf zone and structure. Boat ramps at nearby Hatteras Village and the ferry area support access for sound and gulf stream trips. Beaches at Cape Hatteras National Seashore and Buxton Beach offer dramatic sand for family outings picnics swimming and surf fishing with iconic lighthouse views. The remote cape location rewards those who time their visits with the tides.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore (Tide Pool)

Stretching along the Outer Banks (about 4 hours from Raleigh in Cape Hatteras National Seashore), this vast barrier island preserve features limited but rewarding rocky tide pools and jetties at low tide, especially near Buxton or Avon areas.
