Kitty Hawk (Guide)

Kitty Hawk on the Outer Banks provides excellent fishing for redfish, bluefish, and pompano from the beaches or small boats with outgoing tides improving surf fishing action. Boat ramps at Kitty Hawk and nearby sound accesses support small craft. Beaches at Kitty Hawk Beach and the main Outer Banks stretches deliver long sand for family outings picnics swimming and shore casting with dramatic ocean views. The historic Wright Brothers area setting makes tide planned visits memorable.

Kitty Hawk Bay and Soundside Access (Other)

Public soundside access points on the west side of Kitty Hawk along Kitty Hawk Bay and the Roanoke Sound offering shoreline fishing crabbing kayaking paddleboarding and low tide exploration of the protected back bays and marshes. Tidal ranges expose mudflats sandbars and shallow areas at low tide creating ideal conditions for targeting inshore species like red drum speckled trout and flounder from shore or small craft while observing birds and wildlife in the estuarine habitat. Quiet access with limited facilities provides a serene complement for combining land based or paddle activities with tide awareness and appreciating the calmer western side of the Outer Banks barrier island.
