...COASTAL FLOODING DURING HIGH TIDES THROUGH TONIGHT...

.The combination of a moderate to large, long-period south-
southwest (200- 180 degrees) swell and King Tides will cause wave
run up and could cause local coastal flooding during the
late afternoon and early evening high tide cycle along south
facing shores. Also due to the highest monthly tides and water
levels running higher than predicted at select areas, flooding
along all shorelines and in low-lying coastal areas are expected
especially during the late afternoon and early evening hours.

* WHAT...Nuisance coastal flooding due to high water levels.

* WHERE...Vulnerable low-lying coastal roadways, docks, boat
ramps and other coastal infrastructure.

* WHEN...Through tonight.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of beaches that are normally dry, minor
coastal erosion, and saltwater inundation.

Waimanalo on the windward side of Oahu delivers good fishing for papio ulua and threadfin from the long beach or small boats with tidal flows aiding action near the river mouth and reefs. Nearby ramps in the area support kayaks and small craft for bay exploration. Tidal cycles influence nearshore conditions revealing more intertidal zones or shallow pools at low tide and supporting casual shore activities like beachcombing or picnics in a less crowded section of the bay. Convenient parking and proximity to main Waimanalo facilities offer a peaceful complement for enjoying tide aware coastal time with stunning mountain and ocean views.

Protected nearshore waters along Waimanalo Bay offering excellent conditions for casual snorkeling stand up paddleboarding kayaking and small craft use with potential for viewing tropical fish and occasional sea turtles from shore or after launching nearby. Tidal ranges affect water clarity depth and reef exposure at low tide creating ideal times for exploring shallow areas or enjoying calm bay conditions in this uncrowded windward Oahu spot. Expansive county beach park on Oahu windward coast featuring one of the longest white sand beaches on the island with calm protected waters picnic pavilions restrooms showers lifeguard towers and ample parking for swimming bodyboarding sunbathing picnics and family beach days.
