Kaneohe Bay (Guide)

Kaneohe Bay on Oahu delivers extensive fishing opportunities for papio ulua barracuda and bonefish across the large sheltered bay with tidal flows playing a major role in moving fish through the channels and reefs. Multiple boat ramps and launches around the bay including Heeia Kea and Kaneohe provide easy access for kayaks small boats and day trips. Beaches at Kaneohe Beach Park Kailua Beach Park and Oneawa Beach offer wide sandy areas for family recreation shore casting and relaxation with calm protected waters. The bay setting is ideal for extended outings planned around the tides.

Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor (Other)

Public small boat harbor in Kaneohe Bay managed by Hawaii DLNR with moorage slips, transient space, fuel, restrooms, and access to the bay for fishing, kayaking, and boating. Popular for reef exploration and windward coast trips; tidal currents and shallow channels require caution for safe docking and navigation.

Kaneohe Bay Beaches and Shore Access (Other)

Public beach and shore access along Kaneohe Bay with areas for walking, swimming, shore fishing, and clamming. Features calm bay waters and views of the Koolau Mountains; low tide exposes reefs and mudflats while currents affect safety so check tide charts for safe activities.

Kaneohe Bay Boat Ramp Heeia Kea (Other)

Public boat ramp at Heeia Kea Small Boat Harbor in Kaneohe Bay with trailer parking, courtesy docks, and access to the bay. Supports small boats, kayaks, and fishing trips; tidal ranges and currents affect ramp conditions so plan around higher tides for safe launches.

Kaneohe Bay Yacht Club (Other)

Private yacht club located on the Kaneohe side of Kaneohe Bay offering member slips moorings fuel dock clubhouse facilities and social events with direct access to the expansive bay waters for sailing boating fishing and coastal cruising. Situated in a protected area of the bay it provides a convenient base where tidal ranges significantly influence water levels navigation through channels and timing of outings to enjoy the calm inner bay or head toward the Mokulua Islands and open ocean. Membership focused but great for understanding local boating community and tide patterns in this scenic windward Oahu location.
