Ossabaw Island offers reliable fishing for redfish flounder and black drum from the beaches or small boats with incoming tides bringing fish into the sound for better results. Limited boat ramps on the island for guided access. Beaches at Ossabaw Island and the wilderness beaches provide untouched sand for family outings picnics swimming and shore casting with marsh and forest backdrops. The state owned wilderness island location is perfect for tide timed nature adventures.

Thirteen miles of undeveloped pristine public beaches on Ossabaw Island accessible by private boat from sunrise to sunset up to the high tide line featuring wide sandy shores for walking shelling low tide beachcombing picnics and relaxation with Atlantic views. Excellent for shore fishing tide pool exploration observing sea turtle nests in season and enjoying untouched coastal scenery where tidal cycles expand beach areas expose intertidal zones and create varying conditions for memorable shore activities. Reachable via nearby mainland ramps like Kilkenny or Fort McAllister it offers a wild escape combining tide watching with natural beauty in this heritage preserve.

Ossabaw Island WMA Newell Creek Dock (Other)

Designated dock on the south end of Ossabaw Island for quota hunt participants providing boat access to the Wildlife Management Area with 9000 acres of high ground marshes and ponds for deer feral hog hunting and wildlife viewing by permit only. Tidal fluctuations in nearby Bradley River and surrounding creeks influence water levels currents and expose features like mudflats enhancing opportunities for observing birds alligators and marine life during permitted visits. Managed by Georgia DNR it supports specialized access for drawn hunters combining boating with island exploration while monitoring tides for safe navigation in this protected coastal environment.
