Bowling Ball Beach (Tide Pool)

Bowling Ball Beach at Schooner Gulch State Beach south of Point Arena features unique concretions resembling giant bowling balls scattered along the shore, with surrounding rocky intertidal zones revealing tide pools at low tide filled with sea stars, anemones, crabs, urchins, and mussels. This geological wonder is best viewed during minus tides when the "balls" are fully exposed - access via a short hike from the parking area; combine with nearby bluff trails for stunning views.

Gualala Point Regional Park (Tide Pool)
